Intuition. Did You Hear That Voice?

intuition - hear that voice

One of my favorite quotes by Wayne Dyer says “If prayer is when we talk to God, then he answers us through our intuition.”

Intuition is our connection to our Creator.

That then, you could say, actually makes us co-creators. Some folks refer to Creator as God or Jesus. Some call it as Buddha or Allah. Some people refer to this supreme entity as Source Energy or the Universal Energy or Spirit. No matter what ‘name’ you use, they each represent and are pointing to the same Force

The force that contains all ideas and exists in all places at all times in equal amounts and is accessible by everyone.

If you don’t see that we are first and foremost Spiritual beings, and that we are gifted with intelligence and a body, you may believe we are our bodies, gifted with spirit and intellect. I am going to request you agree, for the purpose of this conversation, that we are Spiritual beings first, and our gifts are intellect and a body. Fair enough?

Consider that whatever thought, dream or image, whether positive or negative, held repeatedly in our conscious minds, will eventually become a Belief. It doesn’t matter if it’s right or wrong either. Once it becomes a belief, it lives like the truth for each of us. In fact we have perfect Faith in that belief and no one can change our minds. Only we can do that!

During the first half dozen or so years of our lives (until the age of reason), we receive countless unsolicited verbal ‘gifts’ from family, friends and loved ones. Gifts like “money doesn’t grow on trees,” as an example.

We have no ability to disseminate or to toss out ideas we don’t like in our very early years. Therefore EVERYTHING we hear repeatedly from others becomes OUR belief. Most of our beliefs still limit and stop us from being, doing and having all that we want. So these are actually what are referred to as limiting beliefs. These beliefs stand between our communication with our Creator and acting on those communications. We could say limiting beliefs prevent the voice of Creator from reaching us. Or if it does reach us, it isn’t powerful enough to stand up against a slew of our limiting beliefs which have been operating successfully all our lives.

Case in Point: You are in second grade and it is your turn to stand in front of the room and recite a poem everyone had learned. You stumble over your words, the kids laugh, you are embarrassed and flustered. Now they laugh more and more and you ‘decide,’ “I’ll never get up in front of a group of people again!” Your cheeks are flushed and you are upset and cannot wait to sit down!

And you pray silently, “God, please don’t let me cry!”

intuition - hear that voiceNow, throughout your life, you have that built in ‘fear’ of public speaking. Is it true that you can’t recite the poem in question without a mistake? Of course you can, with more practice. We all have infinite potential to be, do and have whatever we want as long as we do not violate the rights of others. We are never given an idea that we cannot achieve, or as Napoleon Hill puts it in Think & Grow Rich, “what a man can conceive and believe, he can achieve.”

As an adult, you are given the opportunity to present what you love doing publicly. In that moment when you are asked, right away your limiting beliefs remind you “remember when you flubbed it up in 2nd grade – what makes you think you can speak now?” Your intuition (or Creator) is saying, “this is perfect for you – speak to this group about your passion!” That voice from Creator is quieter and softer than the loud and booming and well practiced derailing limiting beliefs that do not want you to venture out of your comfort zone. Limiting beliefs win again! Well, they’re well practiced, aren’t they?

All the answers to any and all of our questions are available to us.

Many times before I retire in the evening, I will be thinking about a challenge that I was unable to resolve that day. More often than not, when I wake up, I have a fresh new outlook and usually one or two powerful ideas to resolve the issue. Has something like this ever happened to you? Did you think those new ideas were yours?

Those ‘ideas’ are not yours! They are the Gifts from our Creator, as co-creators!

They arrive in our conscious awareness via the intellectual ‘muscle of intuition’.

The next time you hear Creator whispering “you can do it”, don’t look up and ask “are you sure? I’ve failed before. I’m not very smart.” We often do not trust our best self because our well-seasoned limiting beliefs have been stopping us from doing what we want for decades!

What Do We Really Know About Faith?

Faith

What is Faith?

Is it an emotion?

Is there a time limit on how long you should have (or keep the) Faith?

Will it vary depending on your want or need?

In addition to the religious realm, in what other areas of our lives do we have Faith?

How do you attain Faith?

What happens if we have Faith in something negative, such as revenge? How do we know if we have Faith?

All good questions and I bet you have some yourself.
As for the answers ….

Faith is THE most powerful emotion we have.

When coupled with clear focus and surrender (of all other thoughts), as in prayer, it is the direct path to our Creator. Faith allows our prayers to be translated into their spiritual equivalent so they can be acted upon by the Universe. Napoleon Hill wrote extensively about this principle of success in Think & Grow Rich one hundred years ago. Hill said there is no such thing as ‘prayer by proxy.’

I would love to ask him about group prayer for someone who needs help, for example. But maybe one of you has the answer. And prayer without Faith provides no communication with Creator.

While we may already have Faith in someone or some thing, we can actually create Faith to have in something we want very much, as long as we do not violate the rights of others. For those who use Faith for things that are outside natural and spiritual law, it may appear to have ‘worked’ on the surface, yet natural laws are consistent and there is no ultimate remuneration for negativity – except more of that.

What we think about, we become.

FaithAnd, we think in pictures or images. If we consistently picture the image of what we want – let’s start very simply with a great parking spot at the local mall – we start first by expecting (definition: likely to occur) the spot to be there when we arrive. After a few times of arriving to find the perfect spot waiting for us, we begin to believe (definition: a firm opinion we are going to get what we want) we can always cause the spot for ourselves. After numerous times – you find you almost always get a great space after you have visualized or held the image in your mind – see yourself pulling into the space – the conscious mind passes that ‘knowing’ to the subconscious mind and eventually you will have created Faith – a knowing of something where no measures or metrics are needed and no matter what anyone else says, you know it is so.

If you can picture it in your mind long enough, you will ultimately hold it in your hand.

If you use the principle emotion of Faith, you influence or simply draw toward you that which you desire, more surely and more quickly. Have fun with this Gift as you scurry happily toward a jammed mall – knowing and visualizing since you left your home that just the perfect spot is waiting out front for you. [When occasionally there is not the plumb space for me, I remind myself that someone else wanted it more than I, and they saw the space with more intensity this time].

When Everyone is Right, No One is Wrong!

everyone is right - perception

You likely already know that perception is how we ‘see things.’ It’s our ‘point of view.’ And you can use the Law of Polarity (opposites) to shift your perspective of someone or something to another point of view.

Why bother doing that,” you may be thinking. “What difference does it make?”

Consider that we each have our own distinct point of view of everything and everyone. And it changes every time we learn new information. There are no two perceptions that are precisely the same because our views are unique and are built from our environment and our beliefs systems.

Why is this important?

Have you ever argued with someone about who is right and/or who is wrong? Of course … we all have! When you understand that our point of view ‘works well for us’ yet not as well for anyone else, you never need to argue with anyone again! Working to convince another person that your way is the ‘right way’ is pointless because they believe their way is the right way and, – that’s true for them.

What might our World look like if no one argued?

What if people actually put aside for one moment their own beliefs and view of what is being discussed, and stepped inside someone else’s view (shifting your perspective for a moment to the opposite or another view) to create harmony and new ideas?

Highly successful people practice this purposeful mental exercise and are typically successful in business, and all areas of their life. They waste little time ‘feeling’ like a ‘winner’ because they ‘won’ the argument. What did they win? Nothing, really. Covey’s habit “go for the win win scenario comes to mind.

  • everyone is right - perceptionLet’s say you share a large cubicle by the window in your office with one person.
  • One morning, you walk over to the window and open it.
  • A few minutes later, your office mate walks over and closes it.
  • You get up again and open the window, and they repeat their action; they close it.
  • Rather than argue about who will ‘win’ in this dilemma, successful people might ask this question before the second round! “WHY do you keep closing the window?”
  • They may answer, “the breeze from the open window is ruffling the  papers on my desk.” The point? They have their reason which obviously is not the same as yours.
  • Your reason might be “I need some fresh air – I had turkey for lunch and am feeling sleepy.”
  • Both views are valid and true for each person, right?

What then is the win-win?

Now that you have shared your points of view, you work together to come up with the best solution. This is not, mind you, a compromise. It is actually a better solution.

You get up and open a window located nearby and voila! You have fresh air and their papers don’t ruffle. Perfect harmony and synergy – the win-win by intentionally shifting your perspective. Both people got what they wanted and, no one was the ‘loser’ (while the other is the ‘winner)!

The next time you find yourself at odds in a situation with another, try this shift in perception, actually creating a better solution for both of you, and watch how your world B L O O M S ! ! !

Let me know how it goes, won’t you?
